There are many celebrities with their clothing lines. But to be quite frank, just because someone is a good actor or famous singer, doesn’t necessarily mean that they have talent for other creative endeavors. But having said this, there are indeed a few celebrity clothing lines that are successful, not just commercially, but critically as well.

Of course, how involved the celebrities have been with their lines differ. For instantly, some actually designing the pieces themselves, while there are those who inspire the lines and give them their final stamp of approval. Also, just because someone is a celebrity, doesn’t mean their line will be successful. Avril Lavigne, Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes have all had clothing lines which crashed and burned.

Jessica Simpson could very well be a better entrepreneur, than a singer or actress. Simpson has created an incredibly successful line, which includes footwear, clothing, jeans, handbags, eyewear, outerwear, legwear, jewelry, swimwear, underwear, perfume, luggage, accessories and home goods for women and girls. She even has her maternity line. She has also starred in commercials for her line.

Shay Mitchell

Shay Mitchell has always looked gorgeous while walking down the red carpet. She has modeled for American Eagle Outfitters. Mitchell has also been a spokesperson for the Pantene Nature Fusion shampoo line. The actress, model and author has launched an Athleisure collection, which includes sports bras, T-shirts, tank tops and leggings and they all come with a very personal message from her. The line comes with strategic stitching that flatters every figure.

After previous collaborations with H&M in 2007, and Dolce & Gabbana the same year, Madonna launched her collection for teenage girls called Material Girl (after her song) for Macy’s. The line, which is designed by Madonna and her daughter, Lourdes was created for girls aged between 13 and 25. After the successes of the line, Madonna created a racier line of lingerie, fragrance and shoes for adult, called Truth or Dare.

In 2004, the former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham designed a limited edition collection with Rock & Republic. And in 2006, Beckham came out with her own line of denim and eyewear at Saks Fifth Avenue. Two years later, her first collection debuted at New York Fashion week. She even went on to win the “Designer of The Year” at the British Fashion Award in 2011.

Sarah Jessica Parker

In 2007, Sarah Jessica Parker launched her line, Bitten at Steve & Barry’s, which is a now defunct American sportswear chain. Bitten achieved critical and commercial success with over five hundred pieces in the casual collection. In 2014, Parker launched a highly anticipated shoe and bag line for Nordstrom, and it was well received critically.
