Yup, the famous duo Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen turned 29 today. We’ve loved them in ABC’s sitcom Full House, where both of them share the role of Michelle Tanner and starred in a bunch of 90s films together with complete movie merchandise. After that phase, they’ve branched out their empire into the fashion industry and it’s no surprise that they’ve made it big – owning The Row, Elizabeth & James, styling big names, have become a household name in the fashion industry and many more. Let’s look back and remember some of their most iconic looks to celebrate these former child stars turned designers 29th birthday. MK and Ashley attended the Metropolitan Opera’s gala premiere in March 2011 wearing Yves Saint Laurent and their line’s sunglasses, The Row, in New York. Ashley here was wearing Christian Lacroix with a vintage bag and Fendi shoes while her twin Mary Kate went with Lanvin, Proenza Schouler bag during the 2010 Elle Awards show held in London. They won the Style Icon Award that night. Ashley sported a blonde and boho look while Mary Kate went with a dark yet quirky look for the Le Moulins de Mougins in Mougins, France in 2005. The Olsen twins attending their movie “New York Minute” premiere in Hollywood in May 2004. Sleek and chic in custom-made Chanel. Front row seats at Fashion Week, wearing only the comfiest but the most stylish pieces they have – leather trousers, basic coat, long clutch, boots and sweaters. Casual but super cool. The 2007 Met Ball when they were only 19 years old – they were already rocking red carpets at that young age. Isn’t it obvious enough that black is certainly the Olsens’ favorite wardrobe staple? Who could forget about their signature, wavy blonde hair as well? Ashley Olsen opted for a white lace with vampy makeup for the red carpet. Mary Kate is rocking a pretty edgy “off-duty” kind of look with leather trousers, fur jacket and oversized sunglasses because you’re not an Olsen when you don’t have oversized sunnies. The twins seem to like sloppy and oversized clothing. But it looks beautiful on them. Sophisticated and classy look while attending an event in which they also wore those Manolo Blahnik shoes again.
