The costs do not stop at tech packs. After creating a tech pack, you must create a sample for a garment. There are various companies that create samples for a fee. If you go through an NYC agency, you will pay $75 for a simple sample, $300 for a sample of moderate complexity and $550 for a sample of high complexity. If you go through a US manufacturer, the cost will be $200 for a simple sample, $275 for a sample of moderate complexity and $350 for a garment of most complexity. If you go through a European manufacturer, you will have to pay $100 for 3x production and $200 for complex. If you go through an Asian manufacturer, you will have to pay $50 for 2x production and $150 for 5x production. 

If you have to hire employees, you are going to have to figure out how much you are going to have to pay each employee. Are employees cost effective? Are they time effective? If you have employees, you may have to follow stringent guidelines that tell you how to pay them under various conditions. 

Supplies 

There are various supplies that you may need for a fashion business. These supplies include fabric, needles, seam rippers, paper, rulers You may also need a mannequin. Of course, you should have sewing and mending skills. Make a list of supplies for your fashion business so that you can check off everything that you need. 

Network 

Networking is one of the best things to do for a fashion business. You should spread the word about the fashion related services that you are offering. Networking is, by far, one of the best things that you can for yourself—no matter what pursuit you are trying to follow. 

Quality 

Find the right balance of quality and affordability. Do not make your products in the most inferior way and/or out of the most inferior products. Meanwhile, set reasonable prices for the clothes that you are selling. You are going to have to find a happy middle between these two things. You are going to have to source out quality materials.
